James Bay Distillers to Produce "Heart of the Blues" Whiskies

EVERETT, Wash.-- James Bay Distillers, Ltd. has announced their collaboration with Human Tribe LLC of Sammamish, WA to produce and sell Heart of the Blues whiskies nationwide.  Human Tribe LLC comprises two of the founding members of the all-time great rock band, Heart: Roger and Michael Fisher.   The first release is a 100% rye whiskey, bottled at 100-proof which will initially be available at the distillery in Everett, and online soon at the company’s retail site.  Expanded distribution of the Heart of The Blues whiskey will include regional and nationwide sales.

Beginning in 2018, Michael and Roger Fisher, began to explore releasing their own whiskey.  In early 2024 in discussion with James Bay Distillers, they discovered a blend that matched their goals for taste, smoothness and super-premium quality.

This release is named after the Fishers’ album release, Heart of The Blues, the music for which was inspired by time spent in the Mississippi Delta, home of the foundation of jazz, blues, rock, and all subsequent related styles of music.  In addition to James Bay Distillers’ sales efforts, Roger Fisher and his band will spearhead the introduction of their whiskey during live performances. 

“The art of music is like the art of distillation: go to any length to produce the best, most fulfilling and inspiring work.  We love the commitment by James Bay Distillers to only produce sipping whiskies,” said Roger Fisher.

Heart of The Blues rye whiskey is bottled in 750-ml bottles at 100 proof (50% alc./vol.).   “We are very pleased with this whiskey,” said Ernest Troth, James Bay Distillers’ president.  “This is very smooth despite the higher proof, and has a wonderful dark amber color from aging in a heavy char barrel.”   The whiskey will also be available in 750ml bottles with autographed labels from the Fisher Brothers, Roger and Michael.

About James Bay Distillers

The company is based at Paine Field Airport in Everett, WA.  Their other award-winning spirits include 10 whiskies, gins and vodkas which are rated 90+ points in national and international competitions.   Heart of The Blues rye whiskey joins  Galloping Goose whiskies (97 points, six gold medals) and their Inner Harbour Scotch whisky (same awards as 18-year Johnnie Walker and international brands).  James Bay’s gins are rated “dangerously smooth,” and their Strait Up Killer Vodka is rated as “1 of the top 9 vodkas” in the USA by Wine Enthusiast.

All spirits are available at the distillery and online.  Selected spirits are available at liquor stores local to Everett, WA and Washington State.   Spirits sales are restricted to consumers 21 years of age and above. Wholesale, off-premise and on-premise pricing are available.
