NASHVILLE - Peg Leg Porker Spirits, Nashville pitmaster Carey Bringle’s acclaimed bourbon brand, received exceptional reception at this spring’s national and international spirits competitions. The accessible bourbon line picked up eight awards in May alone.
After being named 'World's Best Bourbon' at the Tasting Alliance World Championships in 2023, Peg Leg Porker Spirits was recognized by three well-regarded establishments in May. Since its inception in 2000, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition has become the oldest and largest competition of its kind, drawing competitors ranging from renowned distillers to small-batch producers. Similarly, the ASCOT Awards is an international spirits competition that provides a unique opportunity for distillers to have their products recognized through its founder, Fred Minnick’s YouTube channel, social media, news articles, newsletters, and festival. Finally, the SIP Awards is the only internationally recognized consumer-judging spirits competition that allows distillers to cater to the opinions and palates of the discerning public without concern for industry bias.
All three prestigious institutions host highly competitive events and are well-respected by industry professionals. Peg Leg Porker Spirits was awarded the following honors:
- The White Label Bourbon Whiskey and 8-Year Aged Bourbon Whiskey both received Double Gold standards at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
- The 12-Year Aged Bourbon Whiskey and Rye Whiskey both received Gold standards at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
- The White Label Bourbon Whiskey received a Gold honor at the 2024 ASCOT Awards.
- The White Label Bourbon Whiskey received a Double Gold honor and a Consumers’ Choice award at the 2024 SIP Awards.
“I’m honored to accept these awards on behalf of Peg Leg Porker Spirits,” Bringle said. “My team has poured everything they have into producing great spirits at accessible prices. My goal is to get good bourbon into the hands of anyone who wants to drink it, and I appreciate every customer who’s ever given my brand a try. We wouldn’t be here without you.”
