Ancient Drinks Expands Distribution to Over 300 Stores with Remarkable Repeat Buy Rate

Ancient Drinks, a pioneer in the natural beverage industry, is thrilled to announce its expansion into over 300 retail locations nationwide. The brand's exceptional repeat buy rate of 50.6% underscores its strong consumer appeal and growing market presence.

Ancient Drinks has also expanded its distribution network with KeHe Distributing, now including eight additional warehouses across key U.S. regions, including the East Coast, West Coast, and parts of the Midwest. This strategic move will significantly enhance the brand’s reach and availability.

About Ancient Drinks:

Ancient Drinks offers a premium selection of natural beverages inspired by traditional recipes and ancient wisdom. Each beverage in their lineup has a rich historical background as the original isotonic and energy drinks, used across different cultures for centuries:

  • Sekanjabin – Originating from ancient Persia, Sekanjabin was a popular drink among the Persian elite. Made with vinegar and honey, flavored with mint, it was consumed for its refreshing and revitalizing properties. The unique blend of sweet and tangy flavors was valued not only for its taste but also for its purported health benefits.
  • Posca – Used by ancient Romans, Posca was a staple drink among soldiers and laborers. This beverage, a blend of vinegar, water, and herbs, provided a hydrating and energizing effect. It was especially valued for its ability to keep individuals hydrated and refreshed during prolonged, strenuous tasks, making it a historical precursor to modern sports drinks.
  • Switchel—Known as "haymaker's punch," Switchel was consumed in early America, particularly during harvest time. Combining apple cider vinegar, ginger, and maple syrup replenished electrolytes and provided a boost of energy. Its historical use in farming communities underscores its role as a natural isotonic drink for those engaged in labor-intensive activities.

Josh Rogers, a veteran in the advertising industry, brings extensive experience in brand strategy and consumer engagement to Ancient Drinks. Before founding the company, Rogers held key roles in several top advertising agencies, where he developed a deep understanding of market positioning and consumer behavior.

Bill Sipper, Managing Partner at Cascadia Managing Brands, highlighted the strategic focus: “We haven’t seen a repeat buy rate this high since we helped launch Liquid Death. Our strategy for Ancient Drinks is to ensure the brand is placed in stores that effectively target the right consumer demographics and psychographics. This approach demonstrates the brand’s strong performance in the right contexts. Our selective distribution strategy is working, and we’re excited to drive further success.”

In addition to expanding into major retail locations, Ancient Drinks will also extend its reach into select Direct-Store Delivery (DSD) markets, further enhancing its distribution flexibility and accessibility.

The brand is already featured at notable retailers, including Lassens, New Frontiers, and Good Earth, as well as numerous independent locations affiliated with the Independent Natural Food Retailers Association (INFRA). INFRA is a purchasing cooperative that supports independent organic and natural food and wellness retailers across 46 states, Washington D.C., and Puerto Rico.
