Award-Winning Canadian Distillery Recently Named ‘Best in Class’ Canadian Whisky at 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition
TURNER VALLEY, ALBERTA, CANADA (October 15, 2024) – Eau Claire Distillery, one of Canada’s best-known craft distilleries and recently named “Best in Class” Canadian Whisky at the prestigious 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, has appointed Andrew Teubner to the new role of Chief Growth Officer, as the company continues to positions itself for increased distribution and growth.
Reporting to Eau Claire Distiller’s founder and CEO David Farran, Teubner will lead Eau Claire’s expansion into international markets, focused particularly on the United States and Europe.
Teubner began his career in the beverage alcohol industry more than 30 years ago, working in the U.S. and Asia with such companies as Joseph E. Seagram & Sons, The Patrón Spirits Company, Tequila Casa Dragones, and Ghost Tequila. Prior to joining Eau Claire, Teubner was Chief Revenue Officer at Sire Spirits (Branson Cognac and Le Chemin du Roi Champagne, created by musician and entrepreneur Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.) He also is a current member of the Bosscal Mezcal Board of Directors, and he served on the Eau Claire Board of Directors since early last year.
“As a member of the Eau Claire board for almost two years, we’ve come to know Andy quite well and we recognized immediately the value of his decades of extensive experience building global brands,” said Farran. “Andy is exactly the strong leader we need to grow and expand our spirits into new markets, and we’re thrilled that he is joining the team full time.”
From the company’s distillery in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies, Eau Claire distills and bottles award-winning whiskies, gin, vodka, and other spirits. The brand’s flagship product, Rupert’s Exceptional Whisky, defeated some of the largest distilleries in Canada to achieve “Best in Class” honors in Canadian Whisky at this year’s San Francisco World Spirits Competition, after being awarded Platinum status (Double Gold medals three years in a row) by the competition’s panel of influential industry judges.
“Eau Claire is not only a highly awarded distillery, through the company’s commitment to preserving and honoring the rich traditions of spirits production in Alberta, Eau Claire’s products are in many ways redefining the perception of Canadian spirits,” says Teubner. “I’m proud to be a part of it, and I’m tremendously excited to introduce Eau Claire’s portfolio of high-quality, ‘Best in Class’ spirits to the U.S. and other new global markets.”
