Everett, WA. James Bay Distillers announced today that they have released a new amaro, T'day T'amaro, featuring 11 Mediterranean botanicals, spanning the region from the Maghreb, Italy & Malta to Turkey and the Levant. "We've taken a different approach for this spirit than many other amari," said Ernest Troth, president of James Bay Distillers. "We chose a higher proof than many others (we're at 80-proof) and omitted the sugar because T'day T'amaro is naturally sweet from our corn distillation."
T'day T'amaro opens with a complex, sweet nose and first taste, followed by an unrelenting bitter note before returning to a satisfying and lingering sweet finish. "This is perfect for a Vesper cocktail, one of James Bond's favorites from the movie "Casino Royale," said Troth. "At the distillery we serve our vesper with three parts of our Summer Gin No. 5, one part Strait Up Killer Vodka and then 1/4 to 1/2 oz of T'day T'amaro: fun, easy and always provides a great story as our guests discuss their favorite 007 movies!"
For a lighter ABV cocktail, try 1.5 oz of T'day T'amaro, add a bit of your favorite simple syrup and club soda for an amaro highball.
The limited release is available at the distillery at the south end of Paine Field Airport in Everett with a base price of $34.99 before state liquor taxes.
