This Holiday Season Will Be Merry, Bright and Tasty with this Savory Collaboration

SAUSALITO, Calif. (Oct. 28, 2024) –  Sausalito Liquor Co., a Northern California spirits brand with delicious, bold and unapologetically drinkable gin and whiskey lines, partnered with TCHO (“cho”), a pioneering craft chocolate maker based in Berkeley, Calif., to build the killer limited-edition Unsinkable Chocolate Liqueur.

“We are so excited for this Unsinkable Chocolate Liqueur to be our first new product since we launched a year ago,” says Scott Jampol, Sausalito Liquor Co. founder and part-time local bartender. “It’s devilish, unexpected, shockingly drinkable and unique – everything we look for in our spirits. It’s going to bring a lot of smiles to the holiday season and will inspire some really amazing cocktails.”

This ain't your grandma's after-dinner tipple. The Unsinkable Chocolate Liqueur is loaded with lots of exceptional TCHO Chocolate. Whether added to a chocolate martini, used in desserts or just sipped neat, this crème de cacao is ridiculously drinkable with a spirit that's unsinkable.

The partnership started more than 3 years ago as Sausalito Liquor Co. was in its infancy. While coffee liqueurs were increasing in popularity, the spirits brand noticed chocolate liqueurs, an essential ingredient in many decadent cocktails, were mainly still over-sugared, under-proofed spirits that just hit one flat chocolate note. Jampol approached TCHO, given its reputation for products with incredible and deep chocolate flavor. TCHO came on board to co-create something sensational. It provided various types of cacao nibs in which to experiment with for the liqueur. Ultimately, Sausalito Liquor Co. decided on the nibs TCHO sources from Ghana as the base of its liqueur. These same nibs are used in one of TCHO’s most successful chocolate bars, “Holy Fudge.”

“Working with Sausalito Liquor Co. on the Unsinkable Chocolate Liqueur was an exciting adventure,” says Josh Mohr, SVP of Marketing at TCHO. “Their dedication to craftsmanship made this collaboration a natural fit, and it is always awesome to see how TCHO chocolate can come alive in the hands of creators like the folks at Sausalito Liquor Co.”

The Unsinkable Chocolate Liqueur comes in at 24% ABV (48 proof), in 100% recycled bottles and is available for $33.99 online and at select Northern California restaurants, bars and stores. Time is of the essence to get a sip – only 1,000 bottles were made.

Self-love is important so certainly people should grab a bottle and indulge their cravings. But sharing is caring. Consider ditching the wine and gift this chocolate liqueur to your gracious party host, and don’t forget about your mother-in-law, accountant and personal clairvoyant this holiday season.

For retailers, restaurants and bars interested in selling or serving the Unsinkable Chocolate Liqueur, visit sausalitoliquor.com. Cheers!

ABOUT SAUSALITO LIQUOR COMPANY
Sausalito Liquor Co. is a Northern California spirits brand with delicious, bold, and unapologetically drinkable gin and whiskey lines. Spirits Award and San Diego Spirits Festival Award-winning spirits as well as more information about us at sausalitoliquor.com and on Instagram.

ABOUT TCHO CHOCOLATE:
TCHO Chocolate crafts award-winning and imaginative chocolate by collaborating directly with cocoa farmers at flavor labs across the world to grow better, more consistent cacao beans to create authentic craft chocolate. Like wine or coffee, cacao’s inherent flavors vary based on the terroir where it is grown, as well as on key processes, like fermentation or roasting, that influence the development of flavor. Since not all cacao is created equal, TCHO established TCHO Source, a one-of-a-kind sourcing and educational partnership with farmers, co-operatives, and agronomists all over the world. By installing TCHO Flavor Labs in key cacao-producing locations, creating industry cacao sensory analysis standards, conducting sensory training, developing standardized fermentation and drying processes, improving infrastructure, and sharing information throughout the world of cacao, TCHO has turned its suppliers into co-creators. TCHO proudly sources 100% organic, fair-trade chocolate and is a certified B Corp company, committed to sustainability and ethical practices. Every ingredient is hand-selected to craft chocolates that inspire chefs, bakers, and enthusiasts, offering a delicious experience from first glance to last bite.
