Costa Tequila, the maker of the world’s first Hi/Lo blend of tequila, achieved significant growth in 2024, continuing its mission to redefine the category. This year’s success was defined by expanded retail distribution as well a strong focus on its home market of Florida. Costa added another 2000 placements in 2024 establishing a footprint of 6,500 across the US, doubling the industry growth rate of 12.4%.
Costa Tequila offers the first ever Hi/Lo blend of tequila, reimagining the spirit by uniting 100% Blue Weber Agave from two traditionally separate tequila regions in Jalisco, Mexico: “Los Altos” (the Highlands) and “Valle de Tequila” (the Lowlands). Its one-of-a-kind approach spans a lineup of four innovative blends: Blanco, Reposado, Añejo and Costa Café.
“The Hi/Lo blend has changed the game for tequila lovers, showcasing the best of both regions in a way that’s never been done before,” said Costa Tequila Founder Stephen Gavula III. “As the brand matures, our tasks are to increase accessibility, strengthen our distribution footprint within our current markets, and continue to support our community .”
Costa Tequila is now distributed across 17 states, having expanded into new markets including Texas in 2024. Multiple national chain activations enhanced the brand’s presence nationwide, and tequila lovers can now find Costa Tequila at over 6,500 placements across the United States. A growing team complemented an increase in sales, as Costa Tequila’s internal team doubled in size in 2024. Costa developed its sales team this year and hired a CFO to help guide the company’s growth.
This year, Costa also focused on deepening its presence in its home market of Florida, achieving full statewide distribution coverage. The brand, which is known for its dynamic approach to storytelling, further celebrated its home state by partnering with South Florida artist and long time ambassador Kasey Scott to release a limited edition Blanco bottle featuring Scott’s portrayal of a majestic white marlin. A portion of proceeds from every bottle benefits the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) Florida, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting Florida’s marine resources. Scott is one of several artists and visionaries who have partnered with Costa to help share the compelling story of the world’s first Hi/Lo tequila blend.
Looking forward, Costa plans to emphasize community projects while continuing to chase the sun and create unforgettable moments for tequila lovers. Find all four varieties of Costa Tequila, Añejo, Blanco, Reposado, and Café at select retailers or order online at costatequila.com.
About Costa Tequila
For Costa, the makers of the first ‘Hi/Lo’ blend of tequila in the world, the mission is simple: redefine conventional tequila. The unique Hi/Lo blend of Costa Tequila is made from 100% Blue Weber Agave plants sourced from two distinct locations: “Los Altos” (the Highlands) and “Valle de Tequila” (the Lowlands). While traditionally these two regions produce tequila separately, Costa’s Hi/Lo blends bring the unique flavor profiles of both regions together.
