Louisville, KY – Jan. 13, 2025 – Buzzard’s Roost Sipping Whiskey is kicking off 2025 by bringing its award-winning bourbons and ryes to consumers in six new markets. The new states and distributor partners are: Alabama and Mississippi (Mad Vines), California (Collier Barnett), Iowa (Johnson Brothers), Michigan (Imperial Beverage), and New Hampshire (Ruby Wines). With these new markets, Buzzard’s Roost whiskeys can now be found in more than half of the country.

Additionally, the Buzzard’s Roost portfolio in Indiana is now represented by Johnson Brothers, to drive growth in that market.

Buzzard’s Roost Co-founder and CEO Judy Hollis Jones credits the growth to product quality and increased brand awareness across the country. “We earned some exceptional accolades in 2024, including several 95+ ratings from Wine Enthusiast and the title of Best American Craft Rye from the International Whisky Competition. This kind of recognition plus the distinctive flavors that we create from our proprietary double-oaking process has led to great excitement about our whiskeys.”

The expanded distribution makes Buzzard’s Roost available in a total of 26 markets including: Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington, D.C. and Alberta, Canada.

Since launching in 2022, Buzzard’s Roost has become known for the unique flavors that develop in its whiskeys during secondary maturation in barrels with proprietary toast profiles designed to coax out specific flavors from the wood.

Adding to its 2024 achievements Buzzard’s Roost started distilling its own bourbon at its distillery and tasting room on Whiskey Row in Louisville. This February will mark one year in-barrel for their first batch, produced by Lead Distiller Ethan Spalding and Master Blender Jason Brauner.

“We have some exciting new releases planned for 2025, while we wait for our new-make bourbons to develop in-barrel,” says Co-founder Jason Brauner. “We know our customers love small-batch and single barrel releases, so we keep the pipeline full of interesting new whiskeys.”

About Buzzard’s Roost: Buzzard’s Roost Sipping Whiskeys started in 2022 and is an independent distiller, blender and bottler of exceptional whiskies crafted using pioneering techniques. Buzzard’s Roost whiskeys stand out for their exceptional flavors, which are created using a combination of break-through approach to secondary maturation including 18-month-seasoned oak barrels for intensified flavors, and exclusive use of Char #1 over very specific toast levels to coax complex flavors from each barrel, leading to rye whiskeys and bourbons with flavors unlike any other.

Buzzard’s Roost Sipping Whiskeys are available in 26 markets U.S. and Alberta, Canada, and online and at the Buzzard’s Roost Distillery and Tasting Room at 624 W. Main Street in downtown Louisville. All Buzzard’s Roost whiskeys are second-barrel aged and bottled at Bardstown Bourbon Company. Buzzard’s Roost is proud to be a woman-led company. Follow @BuzzardsRoost on Instagram and Facebook.
