The study provides new insights into the pharmacokinetics and physiological effects of three butyrate forms – sodium butyrate (NaB), lysine butyrate (as BIOMEnd™) (LysB), and tributyrin (TB).
The study included healthy adult men, aged 25-45, who ingested one of three butyrate forms, with blood samples and assessments collected over a 3.5-hour post-ingestion period. Measurements included serum butyrate concentrations, feelings of well-being, and physiological vitals. Blood samples were collected at six time points and analyzed using advanced GC-MS techniques to measure serum butyrate levels. In addition, Visual Analog Scales (VAS) evaluated participants’ well-being, mood, motivation, and concentration at multiple time points.
The results showed BIOMEnd, a STACK3D top innovation of 2024, had significantly higher peak plasma concentrations (Cmax) and quicker time to maximum concentration (Tmax) compared to tributyrin – indicating its superior bioavailability and faster systemic circulation. In addition, participants reported improved feelings of well-being, calmness, and motivation after ingesting BIOMEnd. Notably, BIOMEnd achieved 500% greater Cmax than tributyrin and 180% greater Cmax than sodium butyrate. The results emphasize BIOMEnd’s efficacy in delivering butyrate into the bloodstream more effectively than current forms on the market.
