JACKSON HOLE, WY (April 15, 2025) - Wild Common, a Jackson Hole-based company creating small batch and sustainably-made tequila and mezcal, unveils its first añejo: a rich, high-proof expression born from volcanic soil and patient hands. Aged for 14 months in ex-bourbon barrels at the renowned Cascahuín Distillery in El Arenal, Jalisco, this release marks a milestone for the brand built on respect — for the land, the craft, and the people behind the pour.
The highly-anticipated expression is bottled at 94 proof / 47% ABV and delivers a complex flavor that will excite both tequila and bourbon enthusiasts. Crafted from 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the lowland valley of Jalisco, this añejo carries the DNA of its terrain. The piñas were roasted for 72 hours in brick ovens and double-distilled in stainless and copper pot stills, creating a foundation of bright, earthy character before the bourbon barrels added their deep amber magic.
“Our tequila añejo comes on the heels of a solid lineup of award winning products,” said Andy Bardon, Wild Common Founder and National Geographic Photographer. “Each expression Wild Common has released has its own character and personality and this is no exception. This añejo is our longest aged expression in oak barrels creating a mature flavor profile that will please tequila enthusiasts with the highest of standards. So break out the good stuff, share it with friends, and enjoy the ride. Salud! ”
The Liquid
The category-defining añejo’s first sip delivers a masterful harmony of cooked agave, golden raisins, warm spices, candied ginger, and luscious dates that evolve as the spirit opens in the glass. On the nose, it reveals an aromatic bouquet of delicate florals, raw honey, fresh tarragon, and subtle cinnamon.
The Distillery
Produced at NOM 1123 under the eye of Master Distiller Salvador Rosales Trejo (“Chava”), the añejo reflects Cascahuín’s century-old legacy — and its future-facing spirit. Every bottle of Wild Common is a collaboration rooted in honesty and sustainability. From the recycled glass and plastic-free packaging to community-powered agave nurseries, the process honors both people and place. This partnership began when founder Andy Bardon, a National Geographic photographer, first crossed paths with the Rosales family in Jalisco, Mexico. The visits eventually led to them joining forces and the shared vision led to Wild Common: a platform for clean, expressive agave spirits that tell the full story of their origin.
