New York, NY (April 24, 2025): Tamdhu Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky has officially unveiled The Dedication Collection, a collection of some of their oldest, rarest and most limited whiskies, exclusively aged in the finest Oloroso sherry casks. The first release in this collection is a 43-year-old single malt that has spent decades in Tamdhu’s Oloroso sherry casks, magnifying the flavor, character, and intensity of the liquid. This extremely rare whisky is offered at an SRP of $15,999, with only 100 bottles available globally.
Aged in Tamdhu’s extraordinary and famed Oloroso sherry seasoned oak casks from beginning to end, the 43-Year-Old is a true expression of the brand’s dedication to quality and craftsmanship. Exclusively made with water from Tamdhu’s own natural spring and matured for more than four decades on Speyside, it showcases a Tamdhu never seen or tasted before, with an intensified character, flavor, and distinctive dark amber color the spirit is renowned for.
Distillery Manager, Sandy McIntyre, says, “Tamdhu 43-Year-Old’s release is a landmark moment for our distillery. To have a whisky this age, matured exclusively in three exceptional Sherry oak casks, is a true gem that exemplifies the amazing depth and complexity that only time can create. This is an incredibly limited release, with only a select number of bottles available in the U.S, making it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We’re incredibly proud to offer this extraordinary whisky to those who appreciate the finest sherried single malts.”
Dedication Collection: Tamdhu 43-Year-Old (SRP $15,999, ABV 50.8%)
Tamdhu 43-Year-Old has matured in not one but three exceptional sherry oak casks, with the sherry oak breathing, and the spirit taking on its unique character with every passing year. The whisky is non-chill filtered to enhance the completely natural and rich color of Tamdhu’s award-winning whisky.
Tasting notes:
- Nose: Rich sherry, treacle toffee, dried coriander, berries, citrus and dried spice
- Palate: Deep sherry, orange, blackcurrant, molasses, chocolate coconut and hints of coffee
- Finish: Long sherry oak finish, with hints of lemon and dried berries
Presented in a hand-crafted, octagonal, wooden and classic brushed silver metal box, in a bespoke hand-blown crystal Victorian style decanter, the individually numbered bottles perfectly reflect the deep amber color of Tamdhu whisky.
To celebrate the launch and showcase the distillery’s unwavering dedication to sherry matured whisky perfection, Tamdhu teamed up with leading photomicrographer, Peter Woitschikowski to create striking photographs of the spirit up close, designed to showcase the purity, artistry and simple beauty of the whisky itself. Bridging the gap between science and art, Woitschikowski uses a microscope fixed to a high-resolution camera to uncover the unexpected shapes and textures hidden to the naked eye.
To capture the one-of-a-kind images, Woitschikowski crystallized the whisky with natural extracts inspired by the tasting notes of orange, coffee and lemon, using these as the canvas for the Tamdhu photographed at 43 times magnification - a microscope spin for every year the whisky has matured in the sherry oak casks.
Spending weeks experimenting to craft the perfect picture, Woitschikowski said of the collaboration: “You never know how the images will come out. And every picture is different and unique. Tamdhu was a special case because the whisky is so pure. So perfect. We had to add extracts to create the crystallization required. The results are quite beautiful, I believe.”
Tamdhu 43-Year-Old includes a personal invitation to each owner from Sandy McIntyre to an exclusive stay at the closed-to-public Tamdhu distillery and enjoy a host of amazing whiskies with him, as well as the opportunity to explore the traditional dunnage warehouses for more of the rarest and oldest casks that may well become the next additions to the Dedication Collection.
Tamdhu 43-Year-Old is extremely limited and available to purchase via domestic Specialist retailers with an SRP of $15,999. There are only 100 individually numbered bespoke decanters available globally with a limited USA allocation. For more information, visit Tamdhu's website.
