[Marina Del Rey, CA, April 29, 2025] – MTN WTR, known for its naturally alkaline spring water from Mt. Fuji, is proud to announce the construction of a new 70,000-square-foot bottling facility in Yamanashi, Japan. Slated to commence operations by the end of March 2025 and reach full capacity by the end of April 2025, the facility represents a $15 million private investment designed to streamline MTN WTR’s canning process, reduce environmental impact, and bolster the local community.

“From Source to Can” in One Location

The new Yamanashi factory will allow MTN WTR to bottle its canned products directly at the source, preserving the water’s natural quality. With two dedicated production lines and a capacity of 500 cans per minute, the facility will significantly increase MTN WTR’s supply capacity to meet growing global consumer demand.

Advanced Technology & Automation

At the heart of the new Yamanashi facility lies a highly automated canning line that harnesses AI-driven palletizing, robotics, and data-led quality control. By drawing water directly from Mt. Fuji’s aquifers and overseeing the filling, sealing, and packaging process from a centralized control room, only a minimal number of operators are needed, ensuring both product integrity and worker safety. This advanced approach not only speeds production but also maintains exceptional quality standards, reflecting MTN WTR’s commitment to innovation and consumer trust.

Commitment to Quality Control

MTN WTR will have an onsite microbiology laboratory and a canning lab, conducting random can tests every 30 minutes. Overseeing these protocols is General Manager Tanoue Seiji, a former QC Manager at Coca-Cola Japan, ensuring the highest standards of product safety and integrity.

Supporting Local Community & Economy

  • Employment: The facility will create five specialized jobs, including lab technicians and operations managers.
  • Community Initiatives: A dedicated MTN WTR vending machine in Yamanashi will donate all revenue to the local government.
  • Availability: MTN WTR will be the only water brand available on-site for visitors seeking a taste of Mt. Fuji’s natural spring.

Leadership Quotes

“This bottling facility brings MTN WTR one step closer to our vision of delivering the purest water in the most efficient, responsible way possible,” shares Founder & CEO Masa Kinemuchi. “From automated operations to in-house QC, we are proud to set a new standard in water bottling.”

“By investing in the Yamanashi region, we are honored to create jobs, foster economic growth, and preserve the integrity of Mt. Fuji’s water from source to can,” adds Co-Founder Takashi Nakamura. “We look forward to expanding our reach and showcasing Japan’s water heritage worldwide.”

Future Growth & Expansion

  • Official Launch: Construction concludes in March 2025, with production ramping up by the end of April 2025.
  • Next Phases: MTN WTR plans to introduce a glass bottle line in the coming months, further diversifying packaging options and market reach.
