AriZona Iced Tea reminded everyone why they’re more than just a 99-cent can — they’re a cultural phenomenon. This past weekend, the beloved beverage brand brought the good vibes to SoHo with a three-day pop-up at 216 Lafayette Street, celebrating the launch of their ultra-cool, limited-edition sunglasses collab with luxury eyewear designer Thierry Lasry.
The immersive experience spanned two levels: a curated shopping space downstairs, and a secret speakeasy upstairs where guests sipped on AriZona’s newest hits — including AriZona Hard with Vodka and Cold Brew Coffee. But it wasn’t just the drinks or the designer shades that drew a crowd. Fans — affectionately known as “Zonies” — lined up for blocks, some traveling hours from across the East Coast (yes, even from Boston) just to be part of the moment.
And the biggest surprise? AriZona founder and CEO Don Vultaggio himself showed up to thank the fans — not with a corporate wave, but with heart. In a move that had everyone talking, Don personally handed out hundreds of oversized plush Big Can pillows to people waiting in line, creating a moment that felt more like a family reunion than a brand event.
“People were more excited to meet Don than to grab the freebies,” said one attendee. “They were taking selfies, shaking his hand, even thanking him for keeping the cans at 99 cents after all these years.”
For those who didn’t make it to the pop-up, there’s still good news: the limited-edition sunglasses and exclusive merch drop online this Monday on drinkarizona.com.
