Glen Rock, NJ – May 6, 2025 – Opici Wines & Spirits is thrilled to announce that it has been appointed the exclusive U.S. importer of Bodegas Borsao from the Campo de Borja Denominación de Origen (DO) in Spain’s Aragón region. Globally recognized as a benchmark producer of premium Garnacha, Bodega Borsao embodies a long-standing commitment to sustainability, quality, innovation, and the local community. The vineyards are owned by 375 winegrowing families, reflecting Bodegas Borsao’s ethos of shared stewardship and respect for the land.
“We are honored to welcome Bodegas Borsao into our portfolio and excited to expand our Spanish offerings,” said Don Opici, CEO of Opici Wines & Spirits. “These wines perfectly align with our mission to represent family-owned wineries of the highest quality, value, and integrity. We look forward to working closely with Bodegas Borsao to grow their business in the United States.”
With origins that date back to 1958, Bodegas Borsao was formed by the merger of three local cooperatives in 2001, bringing a renewed commitment to winemaking excellence and the region’s ideal terroir for Garnacha. Today, the storied winery unites the resources and expertise of its 375 grape-growing families across 5,580 acres nestled in the foothills of the Moncayo mountain at elevations between 1,150 and 2,625 feet. This variety of soils and altitudes contributes to the complexity and personality of the wines, reflecting the richness of the land in each bottle.
In 2019, Bodegas Borsao invested in a new winery as part of its ongoing efforts to produce the best wines possible and uphold strict sustainability protocols, including renewable energy from wind and solar sources, rainwater purification and collection, and recycling and waste reduction.
“We are delighted to begin this new chapter with Opici Wines & Spirits, a highly respected leader in the industry known for their passion, expertise, and professionalism,” said Emilio del Caso, CEO of Bodegas Borsao. “We look forward to a long and successful partnership that will elevate our presence in the U.S. market. Together, we are eager to share the unique story of our winery and the exceptional wines that represent our region.”
Opici Wines & Spirits will import the following wines from Borsao: Selección Blanco, Rosado, and Garnacha; Viña Borgia Organic; Bole, Cabriola, Berola, Tres Picos, and Zarihs; and Viña Borgia BIB 3L White, Rosé, and Garnacha.
