A New Chapter for a Trailblazing Tequila, Honored for Exceptional Flavor and Design
JALISCO, MÉXICO, June 2025 | The Lost Explorer is proud to announce that its debut Tequila Blanco – Edition No. 1 has been awarded Double Gold honors at the inaugural Agavos Awards, earning top distinctions for both taste and bottle design. Recognized for its excellence by a blind tasting panel led by experts from Tequila Matchmaker, Double Gold represents the highest level of acclaim—reserved only for expressions unanimously rated as “outstanding.”
The award is a resounding affirmation of the brand’s expansion from mezcal into tequila: a journey rooted in sustainability, craftsmanship, and deep respect for the agave plant and the people who cultivate it.
“We are humbled and honored to see our tequila embraced with such enthusiasm,” said Naira Robles Shields, Chief Marketing Officer of The Lost Explorer. “To be recognized in both flavor and design speaks to our commitment to creating an agave spirit that inspires curiosity, celebrates terroir, and honors the rhythm of nature.”
Crafted in collaboration with legendary Maestro Tequilero Enrique de Colsa, The Lost Explorer Tequila Blanco is produced in small batches at El Magnífico distillery (NOM 1258) in the Valley of Tequila. Made using 100% Weber Blue agave and without additives, the spirit is double-distilled and highlights fresh herbal aromas of agave, citrus, and pineapple, with hints of cinnamon and sea salt—a vivid reflection of the region’s volcanic soil and coastal influence.
The bottle, too, tells a story, echoing the brand’s ethos of exploration and environmental respect. Its distinctive silhouette and natural materials pay tribute to the landscapes that inspire every bottle.
“Receiving Double Gold from the inaugural Agavos Awards reinforces our belief that tequila can be both refined and radically respectful of the earth,” said Enrique de Colsa. “This spirit is a tribute to the land, to tradition, and to those who craft with heart.”
This recognition from Agavos follows The Lost Explorer’s recent success at the 2024 Latin America World Spirits Competition, where both its tequila and mezcal earned top accolades for quality and integrity.
