Boulder, Colorado–August 13, 2025
Twisted Pine Brewing Co. in Boulder, Colorado is teaming up with Boulder Firefighters IAFF Local 900 to support their “FILL THE BOOT” effort to raise funds for The Muscular Dystrophy Association. The collaboration of brew and community will celebrate the release of the “Local 900” Smoked Helles on Saturday, August 16th with a unique family friendly event. The IAFF has partnered with MDA since 1954 to help raise money that goes towards research and treatment to help people living with muscle disease.
In June, Matt Zavala of Boulder Firefighters IAFF Local 900 chapter, came by to help Twisted Pine Brewing’s Head Brewer, Jeff Griffith brew the “Local 900” Smoked Helles Lager. To commemorate this collaboration, and raise as much as they can for Muscular Dystrophy, Twisted Pine Brewing Co. will host a special opportunity for families to see and touch a real Boulder Fire Truck, meet Local 900 Firefighters, play in a 6 foot tall fire hydrant themed sprinkler, get faces painted, purchase limited edition BFD Local 900 and Twisted Pine hats, all while tasting a pint for a purpose! One dollar of every beer sold will go towards “FILL THE BOOT” and MDA, as well as all proceeds from merchandise.
Twisted Pine Brewing’s Owner and President, Bob Baile, said, “As we celebrate our thirtieth anniversary of brewing award winning craft beer in Boulder, this event is an exemplary opportunity to get back to our roots and mission as a company, to give back to our strong community.” He expressed that, “This city has always come together for a good cause, and this weekend should be no different.”
The Local 900 Release Party and events will run from 1:00 p.m. through 5:00 p.m, with fundraising lasting all day during their normal business hours of 12:00 p.m through 9:00 p.m.
