With Decadence Bourbon, Widow Jane Celebrates The Most Indulgent Time Of The Year

Since 2020, Widow Jane’s award-winning bourbon finished in barrels that held Upstate New York’s Crown Maple Syrup has grown into a fall and winter favorite

RED HOOK, BROOKLYN, NY - Widow Jane Distillery announces today that as cooler temperatures return, so does its Decadence Bourbon, the brand’s small batch bourbon finished in American Oak Barrels that previously held Upstate New York’s Crown Maple artisan maple syrup. It’s a rich and luxurious whiskey, released in limited quantities for the most indulgent time of year. Widow Jane Decadence is bottled at 45.5% ABV (91 proof); SRP $99.99.

Released annually in limited quantities, just in time for holiday gifting, Decadence warms with the signature bold flavor and body that is a throughline of Widow Jane whiskeys. Notes of sugared pecans, birch beer, and charred oak on the nose comfort like the first few moments indoors after a brisk, post-work walk. The first sip reveals classic bourbon flavors of vanilla, burnt sugar, and cinnamon bark with a wink of maple syrup that adds depth to cocktails like Old Fashioneds and rich, flavorful Hot Toddies. Mellow finishing notes like brown sugar, shortbread, and tobacco set you at ease.

Its velvety, indulgent flavor profile is a natural fit for this time of year, when gatherings grow cozier and we treat ourselves to something special. Widow Jane Decadence tasting notes: 

  • Nose: Sugared pecans, maple, birch beer, charred oak
  • Palate: Vanilla, burnt sugar, cinnamon bark
  • Finish: Brown sugar, shortbread, mellow tobacco, old whiskey; delivers a slightly sweet, creamy-rich mouthfeel and lingering finish

Crown Maple Old Fashioned:

Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ oz. Widow Jane Decadence 
  • ¼ oz. Crown Maple Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 3 dashes orange bitters

Preparation:

  1. Build cocktail in rocks glass over large, clear, fresh ice cube
  2. Garnish with expressed orange peel
