Silver Oak Names Chef Preeti Mistry as Executive Chef to Lead Culinary Program and Deepen Its Vision

Oakville, CA - Silver Oak Cellars, the leader in American luxury wine, today announces the appointment of Chef Preeti Mistry as the new Executive Chef. This strategic partnership reflects Silver Oak’s legacy of crafting iconic Cabernet Sauvignons and its commitment to broadening the winery experience through food. Chef Preeti will bring a fresh culinary perspective that integrates seamlessly with Silver Oak’s tradition of excellence.

Their talent for innovating while honoring tradition promises to deliver boundary-pushing yet approachable experiences that are balanced, memorable, and deeply rooted in quality.” 

Chef Preeti Mistry, a James Beard–nominated and James Beard Media Award-winning chef, author, and cultural voice, is celebrated for a philosophy rooted in seasonality, sustainability, and bold California sensibilities. Known for inventive pairings and a fearless approach to flavor, Chef Preeti has built a reputation for creating experiences that move beyond the expected to surprise and delight.

Their work has been showcased on CNN’s Parts Unknown with Anthony Bourdain, Michelle Obama’s Waffles + Mochi on Netflix, and The Tamron Hall Show, as well as in publications such as The New York Times, Food & Wine, Bon Appétit, and Vogue India. A frequent speaker and panelist, Chef Preeti is recognized as much for their cultural insight as their culinary creativity.

At Silver Oak, they will lead a culinary program that deepens the wine-and-food connection through rotating seasonal menus and inventive culinary pairings both on-site and in-market. Expect vivid pairings like mushroom black garlic dumplings with the Alexander Valley Cabernet, plus tahini-glazed eggplant and spice-crusted tuna with the Napa Valley Cabernet. Drawing on strong ties to Northern California purveyors and operating from the Silver Oak LEED Platinum-certified wineries in Oakville and Healdsburg, Chef Preeti will ensure every dish feels both innovative and rooted in place.

Guests can now book the new Wine & Food Tasting experience—the first menu with Chef’s vision—that will begin on September 25, 2025, at the Silver Oak Napa Valley Winery.

About Chef Preeti Mistry

Chef Preeti Mistry is a James Beard award-winning chef, author and podcast host. Preeti was twice nominated by the James Beard Foundation as "Best Chef of the West" 2017 & 2018, in addition to hosting the JBF awarded podcast ‘Loading Dock Talks’ 2025. They are the co-founder and Executive Chef of Juhu Beach Club and Navi Kitchen (both now shuttered) as well as the co-author of The Juhu Beach Club Cookbook. Preeti has been featured on CNN's Parts Unknown with Anthony Bourdain, Michelle Obama’s Netflix series Waffles & Mochi and The Tamron Hall Show. They were a contestant on Bravo’s Top Chef Season Six. Preeti is a frequent guest speaker, panelist and contributor to restaurant/food industry conferences, events and dinners. They have been featured in numerous publications including Food & Wine Magazine, NY Times, Time Magazine, Bon Appetit, SF Chronicle, Wall Street Journal, Vogue India, Eater and Harper’s Bazaar. They live in Sebastopol, CA with their wife, Ann Nadeau, and spend time caring for their apple orchard and growing organic veggies.
