Award-Winning, Flavor-Forward Aperitif for Any Season—Citrusy, Vibrant, and Less Bitter
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (October 8, 2025) — For nearly 300 years, Marie Brizard has been crafting liqueurs that embody French savoir-faire and natural flavor. This fall, the iconic brand debuts Marie Brizard Aperitivo in the U.S.—a vibrant, citrus-forward aperitif designed to carry the spritz beyond summer and into every season.
Recently awarded a Double Gold medal at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, Marie Brizard Aperitivo enters the market at a time when the brand is accelerating, with U.S. takeaway growing at double-digit rates. Consumers are increasingly turning to Marie Brizard’s wide range of natural liqueur flavors to elevate cocktails, and the launch of Aperitivo further expands those options with lively notes of orange juice and zest, layered with herbal complexity and a light, pleasant bitterness. Crafted from more than 30 botanicals, including wormwood, bay, basil, thyme, and citrus, and complemented by cherry and apple distillates, it’s both versatile and approachable.
While spritz culture is often associated with warm weather, Marie Brizard Aperitivo shows the cocktail is equally at home in cooler months. Its balance of bitter, sweet, and citrus pairs beautifully with fall dinners, holiday gatherings, and festive toasts. Whether poured over ice, mixed into a seasonal cocktail, or combined with prosecco and sparkling water for a classic spritz, it’s a spirit that elevates moments all year long.
To inspire fall entertaining, Marie Brizard introduces the Apple Cider Spritz, a cozy seasonal twist on the classic spritz that blends the warmth of apple cider with the bright citrus and herbal notes of Marie Brizard Aperitivo.
Apple Cider Spritz
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. Marie Brizard Aperitivo
- 2 oz. Fresh apple cider
- 1 oz. Prosecco
- 1 oz. Club soda
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters (optional, for depth)
- Apple slice and cinnamon stick (for garnish)
Method: Combine Aperitivo, apple cider, prosecco, and club soda in an ice-filled glass. Add bitters if desired, and garnish with an apple slice and cinnamon stick for a festive fall touch.
“The spritz has become a symbol of celebration, and with Marie Brizard Aperitivo, we want to extend that celebration to every season,” said Jason Schladenhauffen, CEO of 375 Park Avenue Spirits, the brand’s U.S. importer and marketer. “With its vibrant citrus notes, refined herbal finish, and accessible price point, it’s a refreshing alternative that shines just as brightly in fall and winter as it does in summer.”
With roots dating back to the court of King Louis XV, Maison Marie Brizard has shared the French art de vivre with the world since 1755. Founded in Bordeaux by Marie Brizard—the first French woman master liquorist—the house remains one of the oldest French companies still in operation, continuing a nearly three-century tradition of timeless heritage and modern flavor innovation.
Beginning this month, Marie Brizard Aperitivo will be available at retail stores nationally with a suggested retail price of $19.99.
