Blanco, TX (November 2025) - Milam & Greene Whiskey, the award-winning U.S. whiskey brand, proudly announces the release of Unabridged Volume 4: A Cask-Strength Blend of Straight Bourbon Whiskey ($94.99 USD) – the newest addition to the distillery's acclaimed Blender's Reserve Collection. Building upon the legacy of its predecessors, Volume 4 invites true whiskey enthusiasts to experience a masterful fusion of flavor derived from pulling barrels aging in different climates before marrying them in Texas heat, defining the Milam & Greene house style of "Texification." While previous editions of Unabridged were crafted from upward of fifty barrels, Volume 4 represents the smallest yield in the series to date. Eight carefully chosen casks were selected for their remarkable character, and together they revealed a harmony so complete that the blend needed no further expansion. This is a whiskey that speaks perfectly for itself.
Unabridged Volume 4 is a power trio in every sense – crafted from a meticulous blend of rare bourbons distilled in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Texas, and shaped by the expert hands of Master Blender Heather Greene, Master Distiller Marlene Holmes, and Director of Distillery Operations Rikk Munroe. Each barrel contributes its own depth, elegance, and complexity to this unfiltered, cask-strength expression. Like annotated pages in an unabridged book, the blend reveals its full story, inviting sippers to explore its technical nuances as well as the craftsmanship that shines in every glass.
A blend of provenance and precision, this year's release highlights the interplay of matured Kentucky and Tennessee bourbons from partner distilleries, harmonized with our own Kentucky and Texas distillate, which features our signature malted rye for a lush texture and lively spice. The composition is as follows:
Amount | Age | Cask
8% | 10 Year | Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
10% | 9 Year | Tennessee Straight Bourbon Whiskey
40% | 8 Year | Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
23% | 7 Year | Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
4% | 6 Year | Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey w/ Malted Rye
15% | 5 Year | Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey w/ Malted Rye
The blend marries the creamy palate of a Kentucky bourbon with the mellow finish of a Tennessee bourbon and strong aromas of a Texas bourbon with character, resulting in a whiskey that is both robust and dangerously drinkable at 118.4 proof (59.2% ABV). Tasting notes include:
Color: Burnt Umber
Nose: Deep, sweet aromas of candied dates, dark chocolate, brûléed sugar, almond paste, subtle oak, and a whisper of ethanol.
Palate: Creamy and dense with green apple, maple syrup, cherry cordial, sweet yeast bread, and caramel-covered popcorn. Despite its high proof, the ethanol is nearly absent on the palate making it deceptively smooth and dangerously approachable.
Finish: Long, smooth, and unforgettable. Grain-forward notes mingle with spearmint and caramel, reminiscent of warm sticky bread pudding with crème fraîche and a sprig of mint. The last sip leaves a warm echo: the kind that makes you double-check your glass just in case there's more.
Unabridged Volume 4 is available for purchase at the link below and at the distillery. This limited-edition bourbon is bottled in small batches as part of the Blender's Reserve Collection, joining past releases including The Answer, Very Small Batch Bourbon, and the Vintage Castle Hill Series.
