The New Orleans-born libations brand’s fifth flavor turns a summer classic into something more considered — built with salt, cardamom, and gentian for a finish that’s anything but simple.
NEW ORLEANS, LA (Monday, July 20, 2026) — Mockly, the celebration-forward non-alcoholic libations brand born in New Orleans, today announced the release of Salted Watermelon Punch, its debut seasonal flavor. The new can is available now online and at retailers across the Mockly footprint.
Salted Watermelon Punch was built to evoke the sensory nostalgia of summer — think coolers, pool decks, and everyone circling the punch bowl — while delivering the complexity of a craft cocktail. The concept started with a familiar archetype and asked a simple question: What would it take to make the backyard punch bowl feel genuinely sophisticated?
Ripe watermelon forms the fruit-forward base, sharpened by lime and strawberry. Salt and cardamom do the unexpected work: Salt brings the lip-smacking quality of a well-made margarita, cardamom adds a warm, aromatic lift, and a light finish of black pepper brings a touch of heat. Gentian, a bittering agent rooted in classic aperitivo tradition, rounds out the back palate so the profile never tips into one-note sweetness. The result opens like a fruit punch and finishes like a proper cocktail.
“We wanted to take the most nostalgic format in the drink world — the punch bowl — and give it the kind of depth you’d expect from a cocktail bar,” said Aimée Sedky, Co-Founder of Mockly. “This is Meemaw’s punch, all grown up.”
“Salt and cardamom aren’t ingredients you’d expect in a watermelon drink,” said Jesse Carr, the award-winning New Orleans mixologist behind every Mockly recipe since the brand’s founding. “But that’s what separates a good drink from a great one — the ingredients you don’t see coming.”
Best served chilled in a punch glass with a salted rim, Salted Watermelon Punch can be enjoyed straight from the can or spiked with 1.5 oz of tequila or vodka for a brighter, spirited version.
Salted Watermelon Punch joins Mockly’s existing lineup — Blueberry Floral Spritz, Pomegranate Ginger Tonic, Herbal Tangerine Elixir, and Citron Café Noir — and is available now as a limited-edition release at drinkmockly.com, as well as at Whole Foods, Rouses, Total Wine, Trader Joe’s (CT), Central Market (TX), and other retailers across nine-plus states. Mockly is also pouring on-premise at 150+ accounts nationwide, including the Saenger Theatre, Jewel of the South, and Barrel Proof.
