Beverage Packaging Leader Zumbiel Expands with Co-Manufacturing Acquisition

Zumbiel, a leading independent producer of paperboard packaging, has expanded its value-added services with the acquisition of a full-service beverage co-manufacturing facility. Located in Farmington, Missouri, this facility now operates under the name ZumBev. This strategic move allows Zumbiel to offer beverage brands a seamless solution to bring new products to market faster and more efficiently.

For national brands managing high-volume distribution, Zumbiel has long been a trusted packaging partner. Its infrastructure is built for scale, with flexo, litho, and digital printing capabilities all housed under one roof in Hebron, Kentucky. The company runs printed 4-pack to 24-pack cartons in a fixed rotation with fast lead times, making it possible for brands to move from production to shelf with speed and consistency.

Zumbiel’s ability to handle massive volumes is matched by its flexibility. The company also supports smaller runs with ease. Brands can order as little as a single pallet, with no limit on design variations. This versatility makes Zumbiel an ideal partner for seasonal flavors, limited editions, and new product testing, allowing beverage companies to stay agile and creative without overcommitting resources.

The acquisition of ZumBev adds a new dimension to Zumbiel’s offering. The facility includes canning and bottling lines, a robotic variety pack line, a pilot R&D line for product testing, and a 100,000 sq. ft. climate-controlled warehouse for storage of raw materials and finished goods. ZumBev is designed to support brands in the early stages of launch and growth, while also providing the infrastructure to scale.

“This acquisition aligns perfectly with our commitment to support beverage brands’ innovation and growth strategies,” said Ed Zumbiel, CEO of Zumbiel. “By combining co-manufacturing with our packaging expertise, we offer brands a streamlined solution to launch new products faster and more efficiently.”

ZumBev fills a critical gap in the market, helping brands with volumes that aren’t accommodated by large co-packers or need trial runs before scaling. As those brands grow, Zumbiel continues to support them with high-volume packaging and production capabilities.
