@@img1 Greensboro, NC – August 30, 2007 – BURN Energy Drink relaunched its original 16oz formula increasing caffeine to 199mg per can. “BURN was already stronger than the other national brands, but we wanted to defnitively offer the consumers the best boost around,” said Tyler Benedict, founder of Source Beverages. “It still has the same awesome citrus/tropical flavor and all the vitamins, but now it’s about 25% stronger than Monster and Rockstar’s original formulas.”
The caffeine was increased to 199mg from 175mg per can from a combination of pure caffeine and guarana extract. “Unlike some of our competitors, we use standardized Guarana extracts, so the caffeine level is consistent in each can,” Benedict said. “We want our customers to know what they’re drinking, and they rely on BURN to give them the same boost every time. It’s all labeled very clearly on the can.” In addition to the caffeine, BURN 16oz contains the same patented version of Arginine contained in professional bodybuilding supplements. It uses the same sugars as professional sports drinks (sucrose / glucose) and adds potassium as an electrolyte. “BURN was formulated with athletes in mind to deliver the right kind of energy to maximize performance,” says Benedict.
