Red Bull North America CEO resigns
Red Bull North America CEO Selim Chidiac tendered his resignation last week to accept a position as CEO of a gold jewelry brand in the Middle East.
Chidiac’s departure comes after 11 years with the company, and three years into his tenure as CEO of Red Bull North America. His time atop the organization saw the roll-out of Red Bull Simply Cola and Red Bull Energy shot as well as the loss of volume leadership to Hansen’s Monster Energy Drink – though Red Bull still maintains U.S. leadership in dollar sales.
In a prepared statement, Red Bull North America said it wished “Mr. Chidiac all the best as he embarks on new challenges in his career.”
A company spokesman said Chidiac’s last day will be Feb. 3, and his successor will be announced at a later date.
