Stumptown Coffee Roasters Debuts the Cold Shot and Cold Brew Sodas

5453e086-8dfe-46cc-ade8-d45932d3e99cJune 28, 2016–Stumptown Coffee Roasters continues to lead innovation in the Cold Brew Coffee category with the introduction of the Cold Shot, the equivalent of a cold, creamy shot of espresso. Cold Shot is also the base ingredient in the new Cold Brew Sodas, both exclusively available in all Stumptown cafes.

The Cold Shot and Cold Brew Sodas debuted in Stumptown’s newest coffee bar in New Orleans in March and have become fast favorites for customers and baristas alike. In early July, Stumptown will roll out the Cold Shot and Cold Brew Sodas in all ten Stumptown cafes nationwide.

The Cold Shot

“The team wanted to cold brew Hair Bender, our signature espresso blend, because of its unique complexity,” says Diane Aylsworth, Vice President of Cold Brew for Stumptown Coffee. “But when they added nitrogen to the concentrate, that’s when we knew we had something special.”

The Cold Shot is a two-ounce pour of Hair Bender coffee, cold brewed and infused with nitrogen, served straight from the tap. Dense, rich and smooth, the Cold Shot resembles the complexity and creaminess of espresso – but holds its own as something new entirely. Average Retail Price: $3.00

Cold Brew Sodas

In a collaborative approach to innovation, Stumptown reached out to their friends at The Commissary, known for crafting fresh, hand-made cocktail syrups. The seasonally rotating soda menu will use the Cold Shot as the base of each drink, adding The Commissary’s custom syrups for a unique and refreshing spin on a Cold Brew coffee drink. Average Retail Price $4.50

Currently Available: Endless Summer, a crisp, refreshing take on the mint julep (ingredients: Cold Shot + Mint Syrup + Fizzy Water) and the Duane Sorenson, a Cold Brew Arnold Palmer (ingredients: Cold Shot + Oleo-Saccharum + Fizzy Water).

Cafe Happy Hour

July 1 – August 31, 2016, Stumptown will be hosting Happy Hours from 3-6pm with Cold Shot, the perfect afternoon pick-me-up, available for $1.00.
