Bombilla? (or, the brand formerly known as "Bombilla & Gourd Inc") is saving the world from corn-syrupy pesticide-laden big-business beverages one consumer at a time. Always USDA Organic, always functional, and always low- or no-calorie. Developed by three 24-year-old ex-investment bankers (who point out they had nothing to do with the sub-prime loan mess), the brand premiered with its Maté Tea? line in 2006, quickly expanding to eight SKUs (including Pomegranate, Blueberry and Acai Berry) and winning BevNet's "Best Non-Carbonated Beverage of 2007". In 2008, it launched the Pure Teas, the first organic and unsweetened teas to go mainstream -- and followed up with "The Superfruits", high antioxidant fruit-based juice beverages in such flavors as Pomegranate Lemonade and Yumberry Limeade.
