Inner Boost

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 12 fl oz
BevNET Review: Inner Boost is a noni enhanced cocktail that has been formulated to promote detoxification and internal cleansing. Inside the bottle, you'll find a sweet pear and strawberry flavored body, which has been given a finish which has notes of raspberry, noni, and green tea. It's a relatively pleasant flavor, with the biggest benefit being that the drink uses pear instead of the standard white grape as its base. However, it's a bit too sweet for our liking. On the outside, we would have guessed that the drink's name was "Inner" rather than "Boost," as all of the emphasis goes to this word. If you have all four flavors side by side it is more intuitive, but by itself -- which is ultimately how the drink is purchased and consumed -- it's confusing. Otherwise, Inner Boost has a fairly attractive look, but the vertical text makes it difficult to read (especially when scanning the cooler) and the drink's key benefit, 10,000 mg of noni juice, is easy to miss. Overall, we like the concept and it's a good first effort, but a few small changes would make this a much better product.Reviewed on: 10/2/2008

Beauty Boost

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 12 fl oz
BevNET Review: Of the juices that are advertised as part of the Boost brand, acai will certainly have the most mainstream appeal. On the other hand, "Beauty" seems more targeted than the names of some of the other flavors. In any event, the flavor was enjoyable, using pear, acai, black currant, and grape juice combined with green tea. It essentially tastes like a high end fruit punch, with no one flavor overpowering the others. On the other hand, it doesn't have a noticeable acai flavor, which could be improved upon. Like the others, packaging is conceptually good and believable, but the execution needs improvement. Overall, one of the better ones in terms of flavor but a more marketable modifier (in place of "Beauty") would likely help.Reviewed on: 10/2/2008

Happy Boost

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 12 fl oz
BevNET Review: This variety pairs pomegranate, pear, goji, cherry and prickly pear juices along with green tea. The flavor is sweet and tart, with an enjoyable fruit flavor that's smooth and well balanced. Plus, we appreciate the fact that there is an actual note of goji to the product -- although we think they could do more to explain why 24,000 mg of goji juice is meaningful. From our point of view, listing juice content in milligrams as opposed to fluid ounces or percentage seems like a bit of a ploy. Furthermore, it's difficult to read the vertical writing, leaving the section to the right of the logo likely to be ignored. The bottom line: we like the flavor and the theme of the brand ("Boost" is a great name), but the visual execution and communication of the function/benefit should be improved upon.Reviewed on: 10/2/2008

Youth Boost

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 12 fl oz
BevNET Review: Of the four flavors, this one was our favorite. Blending mangosteen with a variety of other fruit flavors (pear, pineapple, apple, star gooseberry, dragonfruit, grape juice), this variety has an exotic tropical flavor to it. The sweetness, which is derived from the fruit juice (there's no added sugar -- they should probably mention that on the label), has been kept under control, allowing the fruit flavors to take center stage. In addition, the flavor of mangosteen is distinguishable, which is a definite plus. Packaging is a 12 ounce glass bottle, which has a clean appearance. However, the presence of a neck hanger and vertical text tell us that the package isn't performing just yet. In addition, we're not convinced with the marketer's effort to promote the measure of a liquid ingredient (mangosteen fruit puree) by weight. Overall, solid taste and aesthetically pleasing packaging, but they've got to work on the packaging's functionality.Reviewed on: 10/2/2008
