Red Ginger

Product Type:Tea: Kombucha; Container: 16 oz Glass
BevNET Review: Made with kombucha tea, ginger juice, and strawberry puree, Kombucha Brooklyn’s Red Ginger is a rather enjoyable kombucha drink. Unlike most of the other refrigerated kombucha products on the market today, this product is not carbonated. This gives the product a smoother body that’s closer to a traditional juice than its highly carbonated alternatives. Ginger is a great complement to the fermented flavor at the base of the drink, while a very subtle sweetness (there’s no added sugar) and just the slightest touch of strawberry helps the finish. All in all, this is a very enjoyable kombucha to consume. Packaging is a 16 oz. glass bottle, which appears to be a vinegar bottle. Given its vinegar-like fermented flavor and the lack of other products using this bottle, we think it’s a nice choice. The label looks like something that’s wholesome and locally made, which, given the Brooklyn branding, seems to be what they are going for. Overall, we really enjoyed this product. The Grape Equalizer

Product Type:Tea: Kombucha; Container: 16 oz Glass
BevNET Review: Aside from the name (we’re not fans of working the flavor into a play on words – it’s corny), The Grape Equalizer is a very well executed kombucha beverage. It’s made with Kombucha Brooklyn’s own kombucha base, which has then been enhanced with Concord grape juice. The flavor is simple, but has a pretty bold and natural grape flavor. It’s not overly sweet, with 12 g of sugar per 16 oz. bottle, but there’s enough to satisfy your palate. The sweetness definitely helps keep the fermented flavor in check, while the lack of carbonation is a welcome change from all the highly carbonated products that are currently in the category. Packaging is an attractive looking vinegar bottle. Plus, they’ve done a nice job with the label – it feels both modern and wholesome. Pairing the bottle with the label, we think they’ve done a really nice job of making a product that’s unique and memorable. One of the better kombucha products that we’ve had in a while.
