On Sunday, August 13th, NBA All-Star DeAndre Jordan, wanu water, SHOREbar, and YoungSanta Monica hosted the 6th Annual Beach Volleyball Charity Classic. The event marked the official launch of Jordan’s partnership with wanu, a Los Angeles- based nutrient infused water brand, in their effort to support the American Diabetes Association and promote all around healthier hydration.
The charity volleyball tournament took place at Will Rogers State Beach Volleyball Courts in Pacific Palisades, CA, and the competition included host DeAndre Jordan and friends, including Kellen Lutz, Matt Barnes, Baron Davis, Victor Ortiz, Eddie Huang, Bryan Jordan, Belen Mozo, Marqus Blakely, Ryan Phinny, Shaun Toub, Jacob Soboroff and Nicole Cari. 200 participants played in the tournament, including both a social and celebrity bracket, with the winners of the social division earning a face off against the top celebrity team for the championship.
An invitation only after party followed at SHOREbar. A portion of proceeds from ticket sales, food, raffle tickets, and the after party benefited the American Diabetes Association.
Jordan’s relationship with wanu and the American Diabetes Association began earlier in 2017, when they combined to donate 1,000 bottles to the Alliance for Boys and Girls Clubs of LA for each point and rebound he recorded during the NBA All-Star Game in New Orleans.
