Jade Monk is proud to offer the industry’s first full line of organic, cold-brewed, High Pressure Processed matcha green teas. The first-to-market bottled line will consist of 4 initial flavors: Unsweetened, Slightly Sweet, Mint + Honey and Matcha Cleanse. All are certified Organic, Project Non-GMO verified and high-pressure-processed to extend shelf life of the perishable tea without heat pasteurization or preservatives. Due to its unrivaled antioxidant content (137 times the amount of traditional green tea), potent mood-enhancing amino acids like L-Theanine, natural caffeine content, and smooth non-bitter flavor, matcha green tea has been consumed for centuries as a nutritional beverage that provides a unique, calm and focused energy. Unlike other green teas, Japanese matcha is grown under shaded canopies which causes the plant to draw more nutrients up from the soil and into the tea leaves. At harvest the matcha tea leaves are picked, flash steamed, dried with no heat, and then finely ground under large granite grinding wheels at a low friction to preserve the nutrient content. The result is a pure, bright green powder that is nutrient dense and ready to be crafted into delicious Jade Monk teas. “A single serving of our ready-to-drink teas has the antioxidant equivalent of drinking over 10 cups of steeped green tea but in a convenient format” says Derek Pippin, Co-Founder and COO of Jade Monk.
