Review: Schizandraberry

As the name implies, Katalyst Kombucha's Schizandraberry is a mixture of kombucha and schizandra that has been sweetened with evaporated cane juice. It's a Fair Trade and USDA Organic certified product that's also a member of 1% For the Planet. So how does it taste? Well, compared against other kombucha drinks, the flavor is a bit milder and, therefore, enjoyable. Finally, there's a touch of berry flavor, which is certainly a nice touch. Unfortunately though, the bitterness of the kombucha stays with you, leaving this product in the same niche field with the other kombucha drinks out there. Packaging is good, but a bit hard to read given the choice of font. Overall, it's definitely better tasting than what's out there today -- but we're not sure if that says good things about this product or bad things about the category.
