Learning to pivot amid difficult decisions has been a hallmark of Koia CEO Chris Hunter’s journey as a serial beverage entrepreneur, investor and brand leader.

Koia president and CFO Michael Woolard is on to his next venture, leaving the plant-based protein beverage company to start his own consulting business. After more than six years with the brand, he has founded his own contract business, tentatively called Foundational CPG.

The protein-in-everything trend has flared up at times over the past decade, but current conditions — with tailwinds from health and wellness now supercharged by the arrival of Ozempic and GLP-1 drugs — only seem to be growing more favorable.
