Review: Pure Pecan Milk - Chocolate

Made with only six ingredients, including water, pecans, maple syrup, vanilla, raw cacao, and Himalayan salt, Malk’s Chocolate flavored Pure Pecan Milk is incredibly tasty. Certified organic, free of preservatives and binding agents, and high pressure processed, it gives off an air of quality. Lighter in body and flavor than we would have expected, instead of being thick and smoothie like, it’s thin and quite drinkable. The chocolate flavor and sweetness are very mild (there are only 7 grams of sugar per 8 oz. serving), while the pecan flavor is a nice change of pace from almond or other, more common nut milks. Plus, the body is very clean, with no grit at all. Finally, there’s the touch of salt, which hits your tongue at the very end. All in all, we find this product to be extremely enjoyable from a taste perspective. The product weighs in at 150 calories per 8 oz., with 12 grams of fat, 2 grams of fiber, 7 grams of sugars, and 2 grams of protein. Visually, they’ve decided to go with a 12 oz. cylindrical bottle that’s used, at least in transparent form, by other HPP beverages. Going with an opaque bottle is an interesting move. While we think that consumers do want to see the liquid inside the bottle, the white bottle works very nicely with the clean, one-color label. Our only suggestion is to tighten up the label format -- the fonts, the label placement, and the colors are not used consistently. Still, for what this product is, it’s very enjoyable, innovative, and feels a step ahead of the other nut milks that are currently out there. Definitely worth a try.
