No-Cal Soda Pop: Vanilla Cream

With a rounder, more complete and less artificial-tasting finish than most other diet cream sodas, No-Cal has produced a tasty diet soda that basically gets the drinker to the very limits of what a diet soda can be. And also makes one realize just how limited, in the end, that really is. There’s a sweet, almost fruity finish to this product, and it’s pleasant but not amazing. No-Cal has a well-designed label with an attractive “No-Cal” logo and, in the case of Vanilla Cream, a sax player on the front and a poem attributed to the sax player on the back. It’s in a clean, clear, vintage soda bottle and might be enough to win over repeat diet customers. Those in search of a real creamy vanilla soda would best look elsewhere.
