Rockstar Coconut Water: Coconut Water

Rockstar’s first coconut water enhanced entry is their non-carbonated “Energy + Hydration” flavor, which blends a base of 10 percent coconut juice with an energy drink blend. The flavor is easily identifiable as coconut, although it appears to be coconut flavoring that is behind this rather than the coconut juice. For the flavor of the coconut juice, you’ll have to wait a little longer -- we only tasted it at the finish. Also notable is the drink’s use of stevia, which has been blended with sucrose to keep the calories in check (45 per 8 ounces or 90 per can). Rounding out the functional formulation, the product packs in 80 mg of caffeine per 8 ounces, along with B vitamins, prickly pear extract, milk thistle, ginseng, and taurine. Packaging is a turquoise blue 16 oz. can, which definitely stands apart from the color palette that Rockstar typically uses. Otherwise, it uses a lot of black, including for the lettering and the top of the can. All in all, Rockstar Coconut Water Energy + Hydration is an enjoyable and nicely executed product.
