Review: Strawberry Mint

Of the four flavors of Sweet’tauk that we sampled, Strawberry Mint has the highest juice content at 22 percent juice. Made with water, lemon juice, strawberries, cane sugar and mint extract, the product delivers flavor that’s quite enjoyable. The strawberry and lemon flavors pair quite nicely, while a mild amount of sugar (18g) helps give the product some balance and sweetness. Finally, there’s the mint, which gives the product a cool note to the finish. However, it’s clearly from extract, which is a bit of a disappointment for a product that’s presenting itself as a cold-pressed product. Otherwise, we really like what the company has created. Visually, this product looks more like a juice than a lemonade, which only matters in that it has much lighter juice content than a standard cold-pressed juice and it could confuse consumers. Beyond that, we really wouldn’t change a thing about this product. It’s very refreshing and provides consumers with a nice alternative to a straight bottle of lemonade. On the outside, this flavor is, due to the reddish color of the liquid, slightly less obvious that it’s a bottle of lemonade. However, one glance at the label and it becomes pretty intuitive as the word “lemonade” is front and center. Your eye has to jump around a bit to get the full picture, which could be remedied by rearranging the callouts for the flavor and cold-pressed. Furthermore, we’re again left feeling as though the Sweet’tauk logo could be a bit larger. Overall, a good concept, but we’d really need the mint flavor to be improved to give this a higher rating.
