@@img1MINNEAPOLIS, (Jan 2007) – airforce® Nutrisoda® announced the winners of the “Style Conscience” t-shirt design contest to support Dress for Success, a non-profit organization promoting economic independence for disadvantaged women. Anna Hoychuk, of Mercer Island, Wash. was announced the grand prize winner. The additional category winners selected by popular vote included: Xinxin Zhang of Carbondale, Ill., Elise Stearns-Niesen of Burbank, Calif., Saman Bemel Benrud of Minneapolis, Minn., and Billy Thiex, Minneapolis, Minn.
This multi-category contest was designed to raise awareness as well as raise funds for Dress for Success using edun LIVE t-shirts, which are part of the EDUN fashion label. Dress for Success will receive100 percent of the profits from t-shirt sales.
Contest entrants were invited to submit artwork that included the ionic airforce Nutrisoda airplane logo. Thousands of Nutrisoda fans and online visitors voted for Hoychuk’s creation, “Dandelion”, as the grand prize winning t-shirt design. This design will be screen-printed on 100 percent African cotton tees that will be produced by edun LIVE, a socially-conscious apparel company helping to create much-needed employment and trade opportunities in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Hoychuck is a graphic design student at South Seattle Community College, in Seattle, Wash. Her submission, which included tiny Nutrisoda airplanes, reminded her of fluffy dandelion seeds, sparking the idea of this winning design.
“I am so honored that my artwork was chosen as the grand prize winner among so many creative designs,” Hoychuck said. “The most important part of this contest is channeling my artistic expression to contribute to such a significant and worldly cause.”

In addition to having Hoychuck’s winning design produced by Nutrisoda on the edun LIVE label, she will receive a trip for two to Boston, a two night stay in a luxury Kimpton Hotel, a 12 pack of airforce Nutrisoda each month for a year, a pair of PF Flyers action shoes and 100 Dandelion printed tees for her friends and family. The category winners will receive a 12-pack of Nutrisoda each month for a year and a pair of PF Flyers action shoes.
