BAWLS Featured on MSNBC

Miami, FL – February 26, 2008 – BAWLS Guarana Founder and CEO Hoby Buppert – along with a group of loyal, caffeinated BAWLS fans – was featured on this weekend’s “Niche Marketing” of the MSNBC program “Your Business.” Centered on BAWLS Guarana’s longtime dedication to the video gaming community, the program featured BAWLS’ marketing strategy as a real-life example for business owners to learn how to implement niche marketing techniques into their planning.

MSNBC cameras followed Buppert around the BAWLS Guarana headquarters in Miami, FL to learn about the company’s history and later popped in at Scorpico Multiplayer in South Miami for a first-hand glimpse of BAWLS fans in action at a local video gaming tournament, where BAWLS products were being sampled.

Known as the drink of choice for gamers everywhere, BAWLS has been an active supporter of video gaming for over a decade, sponsoring over 1000 gaming events per year. The company’s trademark blue bottle has also been featured in video games and in films dedicated to gaming. Additionally, BAWLS’ connection to gaming has established long-term partnerships with gaming-focused retailers like Microcenter, and with more than 400 gaming centers across the US. Thanks to these initiatives, BAWLS enjoys a cult-like following among gamers and techies, whose suggestions bring on new marketing moves (i.e. paintball and BMX) and even new products, like BAWLS Guarana Cherry.

This spring, Buppert will debut his first gamer-exclusive product – BAWLS Guarana G33K B33R. Offered only in brown, bumped glass bottles, G33K B33R (pronounced “Geek Beer”) is the first-ever high caffeine root beer spiked with guarana.

“Your Business,” hosted by JJ Ramberg, focuses on the world of America‘s small business entrepreneurs, featuring profiles, news, advice and tips.

BAWLS is the brainchild of entrepreneur Hoby Buppert, CEO of Hobarama, LLC, who named the beverage for the caffeinated “bounce” the drink packs. Widely distributed to local supermarkets, convenience stores (7-Eleven, Speedway/SuperAmerica), Target, Microcenter stores and gaming venues; BAWLS is a premium, non-alcoholic, carbonated beverage made from the guarana berry harvested in the Amazonian Rainforest. The caffeine found in BAWLS Guarana contains the same amount of caffeine as coffee and nearly three times that of traditional sodas due to a naturally occurring form of the stimulant found in the guarana berry. BAWLS’ unique refreshing flavor tastes like a citrus infused cream soda and its popularity continues to grow among caffeine-deprived, refreshment-seeking techies, students, professionals and athletes in need of a Bounce.
