Zevia expands distribution to Whole Foods Market

SEATTLE, WASH. – (June 17, 2009) – ZEVIA, the first full line of stevia sweetened zero calorie natural diet sodas, has been picked up by Whole Foods Market in more than 250 stores, expanding ZEVIA’s presence to more than 2,000 stores nationwide.

“We’re very excited to partner with such a well respected retailer like Whole Foods Market,” said ZEVIA Co-Founder Derek Newman. “Consumers want better, healthier soda options, and we’re confident that our products will be popular among natural and organic consumers who shop there. Especially those with health issues like diabetes and obesity.”

ZEVIA’s full line of Natural sodas include Cola, Root Beer, Twist (lemon-lime), Orange, Black Cherry and Ginger Ale. They contain no artificial flavors, colors or processed sugar substitutes.

“This is a huge milestone for us,” said ZEVIA Partner Ian Eisenberg. “ZEVIA was born out of a desire to find a natural alternative to our diet soda habit. We worked to create something healthy that tastes good at the same time, and just over two years later one of the country’s leading retailers is carrying our product.”

Sweetened with stevia, a rainforest-derived herb that is 300 times sweeter than sugar, ZEVIA was ranked the top selling natural cola by SPINS for the 12 week period ending April 18, 2009.

Headquartered in Seattle, Washington, ZEVIA introduced the first full line of sugar-free stevia sweetened natural diet sodas, and is one of the first products touting the herbal sweetener as a primary ingredient. Founded in 2007 on a mission to offer a healthy soda alternative free of artificial ingredients, ZEVIA contains no calories or chemical-based sweeteners and is available in six flavors in grocery and health food stores nationwide.
