Icelandic Glacial Becomes Official Water of Lake Tahoe’s Premier Ski Resort

ÖLFUS, Iceland (August 20, 2009) – The cool taste of Iceland comes to Lake Tahoe, as the glacially inspired and industry leading premium CarbonNeutral® certified bottled water, Icelandic Glacial becomes the official water of Squaw Valley USA.

Effective immediately, Icelandic Glacial will saturate the slopes of the premier resort with its award-winning water from Iceland in a three year agreement, delivering a natural spring water as pure as snow to elite skiers, snowboarders and Hollywood stars accustomed to the very best that nature has to offer.

As part of the agreement, each of Icelandic Glacial’s four different bottle sizes, including the handy 750 milliliter sport-cap design, will be available across the resort in numerous key locations and branded coolers.

“Our brand has become a firm favourite with a number of world class resorts and hotels over the past year, however being the official water of a location as breathtaking as Squaw Valley USA is truly wonderful,” commented Jon Olafsson, chairman and co-founder, Icelandic Glacial. “As an Icelandic brand our entire identity is based around purity, style and nature. Squaw Valley is a resort that encompasses all of these elements, creating a perfect fit our water.”

With six peaks, 2,850 vertical feet and 4,000 acres of varying terrain, Squaw Valley USA delivers a remarkable skiing and snowboarding experience at a legendary mountain. And like Icelandic Glacial, Squaw Valley USA is committed to executing a dedicated environmental program, using green sources such as geothermal energy in the resorts’ 12,000 square foot Children’s Ski School. This is the same type of natural energy that powers the entire production of Icelandic Glacial, an environmentally responsible factor that contributed to the brand becoming the world’s first certified Carbon Neutral bottled water for both its product and operations.

“Squaw Valley USA is proud to offer Icelandic Glacial throughout the resort, giving our guests a taste of a truly ice-cool water,” said Scott Rutter, Director of Food & Beverage for Squaw Valley USA. “The purity, taste and environmental nature of the brand perfectly complements the Squaw Valley experience and is appealing to our active guests looking to quench their thirst after a day of challenge and mountain excitement.”
