Arrowhead Water Named Sponsor of ASICS LA Marathon

LOS ANGELES — Arrowhead Brand 100% Mountain Spring Water is proud to announce its new premier sponsorship of the renowned ASICS LA Marathon, one of the largest organized road races in the country. The brand has teamed up with elite marathon runner Josh Cox to become the ultimate hydration partner, inspiring first-time and seasoned runners to perform at their best. This year, more than 20,000 runners will look to Arrowhead for hydration as they race from the “Stadium to the Sea” and push themselves to cross the finish line.

Josh Cox will join Arrowhead at the 2013 NutriBullet Health & Fitness Expo from March 15-16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, Calif. Cox, the American record holder in the 50K, four-time U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier and three-time U.S. National Team member, will be at the Arrowhead Brand booth sharing his hydration tips and expert training advice. Specifically, he will help motivate this year’s runners, inspire them with his personal stories and provide tips for how to perform at their best from training, to race day, through recovery. Cox will also invite runners to consider their own personal stories by encouraging participants at the Expo to share their stories on running bibs at the Arrowhead Brand booth, to serve as inspiration for Sunday’s race.

As a professional athlete and full-time runner, Cox knows all about the necessity of consistent hydration as a critical part of training for any physically demanding activity. “Hydration is essential to all athletes, especially those who are striving to perform at their best. Arrowhead is an important part of my workout routine when I’m running in California,” says Cox. “I’m excited to be a part of this renowned event to inspire this year’s runners on their marathon journey.”

Arrowhead Brand 100% Mountain Spring Water, sourced from carefully selected mountain springs, has supported various running events for more than 12 years, and is now excited to be the official bottled water sponsor of the upcoming ASICS LA Marathon on Sunday, March 17, where the brand will supply water at both the start and finish lines. Arrowhead Mountain Spring Water will also be available along the course at official hydration stations, including the Arrowhead Hydration Zone at Mile 16 inBeverly Hills, where more than 150 Arrowhead volunteers will distribute cups of water and a live DJ will provide entertainment to help encourage the runners and cheer them on as they pass by.

“Arrowhead shares in the runners’ passion to be their very best and we’re proud to be supporting them as they cross the finish line in Los Angeles and celebrate their accomplishment,” says Angela Barile , Arrowhead Brand Marketing Manager. “We are excited to be teaming up with the ASICS LA Marathon to be a running partner for all participating athletes in this year’s race.”   Arrowhead, which recently introduced its new .5L ReBorn™ bottle made with 50% recycled plastic (rPET), will be providing more than 47,000 .5L bottles and more than 46,000 gallons to participants on race day.
