Introducing Bump Water, an Enhanced Water for Moms and Moms-to-Be

Brooklyn, New York—“Isn’t there an easier way to get prenatal vitamins other than these huge horse pills that make us sick?” That was the question that started it all and set four friends—one mom, one mom-to be, plus the two husbands who met while flying helicopters in the Navy—on a mission.

Introducing Bump Water, a vitamin-enriched water to help keep moms and babies healthy when it’s all about the bump. The star of Bump Water is folic acid—it is essential to the healthy development of children, before and during pregnancy and while breastfeeding, by preventing major birth defects, namely neural tube defects. Recent studies are also showing a link between folic acid deficiency in mothers who have conceived and autism. And Bump Water is also jam packed with other baby-nourishing goodies such as Vitamin A, D, B6, and B12, Niacin, Biotin, Zinc, and Magnesium.

Working with beverage experts, Jon and Stacy Rauen and Spencer and Amber Wilcox sipped, sampled, and shared with friends in their Brooklyn apartments until they found the perfect combinations of light, delicious flavors. They’ve perfected flat and sparkling versions—because what pregnant woman doesn’t crave bubbles?—that besides being chock full of the necessary prenatal vitamins, are all natural, low in sugar and calories, have a hint of great flavor, and are, most importantly, refreshing.

Full-calorie flat flavors (weighing in under 100 calories thanks to organic cane sugar) include Cranberry Ginger and Strawberry Lemonade; 10-calorie options (sweetened with Stevia) include Pomegranate Mixed Berry and Lemon Lime. For the Bump Water Sparkle lineup, there’s 10-calorie Cranberry Ginger and Pomegranate Mixed Berry, and full-calorie Lemonade.

“Fifty percent of my patients can’t stomach prenatal vitamins and Bump Water would be an easy solution for them to get the folic acid and other vitamins they need,” says Dr. Samantha Feder, director, ambulatory obstetrics and gynecology, Roosevelt Hospital in New York. “For those who can, it’s another refreshing way to supplement their diet. I would definitely recommend it.”

Bump Water is available for purchase on in cases of 12, and will be available in stores soon.
