Life Support Announces Record Growth In 2016

COLUMBUS, OH (November 7, 2016) – Life Support Development, a leading Functional Shot company, today announced it has achieved record growth through the first ten months of 2016. The company has signed over23 new retailers this year, including 7-Eleven, Casey’s General Store, Mapco, and Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores, adding to their already impressive roster of nearly 8,000 locations, which include Circle K, Kroger, and Giant Eagle among others. The company attributes recent growth to a growing understanding and acceptance of the Functional Shot category, and to nationally recognized accolades, including their recent Best New Product Award. To meet the rapidly increasing market demand for its Recovery Shot, Life Support has partnered with best-in-class distributers like McLane, Core-Mark, and Eby-Brown, and the company has also grown its work force by over 40% this year.

“One year ago we were a small startup in Columbus, OH and now customers are requesting our product in every area of the country,” said Brad McKean, Director of Sales. “We’ve been recognized by retailers as a product that drives incremental sales and a market basket twice the industry average.”

Life Support also recently announced its launch of a caffeinated Red Label Recovery Shot, which features zero grams of sugar, a new berry flavor, and the same ingredients found in their award-winning classic formula, including their flagship ingredient Hovenia Dulcis or Japanese Raisin Tree Fruit Extract, which is clinically proven to stop hangovers, increase energy, and improve overall well-being.

“Our research has shown that a majority of customers are buying Life Support as hangover prevention, between 2 p.m. – 9 p.m., and according to a leading retailer, coffee and energy shots are the #1 item purchased with a Life Support, implying that our customers are still seeking energy,” said Shannon O’Shields,Director of Marketing. “Life Support Red Label addresses this issue by providing 190mg of caffeine for an added energy boost, and zero grams of sugar to prevent that afternoon crash commonly associated with energy drinks.”

In 2016 Life Support also worked to grow their global footprint, expanding internationally into India, Southeast Asia, Mexico, and Canada by the end of the year.
