nutpods, the dairy-free creamer made from almonds and coconuts and a Best Seller in its category online, is now available on Amazon.co.uk. Since the family-owned company’s launch into west coast retail and on Amazon.com in May 2015, the nutpods team has fielded intense interest from potential customers outside the US. All three flavors, Original, French Vanilla, and Hazelnut are available to UK consumers.
According to the 2015 Exporter Guide for the UK published by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service, UK “consumers are looking for foods to improve their health which is driving sales of premium, less processed food, functional food, … and low-fat or low-sugar processed food.” nutpods Marketing & Communications Manager, Michele Silbey, has also fielded inquiries from several vegan and health food consumer events based in the UK, indicating that those health trends are growing in popularity in that market.
Since its inception, nutpods has garnered interest from consumers not only in the US and UK, but also other international markets including Canada, Australia, and China. Founder & CEO Madeline Haydon explains, “Our partnership with Amazon has truly and figuratively put our brand on the map. We have been able to reach our customers directly with our own brand voice while we work diligently on expanding our store distribution in the US. The opportunity to partner with Amazon UK with its fairly low barriers to entry (compared to Canada’s bi-lingual packaging requirements for example) came to us and we are thrilled to now be available to our UK fans.”
In addition to the UK, nutpods will also soon available at Green Commons Markets in Hong Kong. The plant-based movement is growing there and the retailer sought out nutpods as a great complement to their current product offerings. Haydon says, “we are so excited to now officially be an international brand and are already looking into further expansion.”
