Expo West 2018 Video: What’s Bubbling Up at High Brew

Within the cold brew race, High Brew has earned a strong leadership position, one based on fast distribution growth through convenience and supermarket channels — and having plenty of money in the bank (its last investment round, led by Boulder Investment Group Reprise, netted $17 million). Nevertheless, the brand isn’t letting up on the gas, finding new fuel for growth in the form of the carbon dioxide bubbles that are driving the brand’s latest innovation, a three-SKU line of sparkling coffee drinks.

During last week’s Natural Products Expo West, held in Anaheim, Calif., High Brew CEO David Smith sat down with BevNET editor-in-chief Jeff Klineman to discuss the reasoning behind this latest line extension, as well as the key factors that are shaping the evolution of the cold brew category. In the video below, Smith also spoke to the state of the beverage business overall, and how recent changes regarding investment and distribution are affecting entrepreneurs in the space.
