The new year has kicked off with several new launches and line extensions, as January’s new product gallery features Dirty Lemon’s first release in a year of new monthly SKUs, Coca-Cola’s foray into non-alcoholic adult beverages and several launches which suggest the CBD beverage trend will continue to surge forward in 2019.
DRY Soda Company
DRY Soda Company will launch Ruby Citrus as the newest flavor in its DRY Zero Sugar line in March, joining existing SKUs Cola, Peach Tea, Mountain Berry and Island Fruit. Ruby Citrus, available in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans, will be the first organic, zero-sugar, citrus-flavored soda, according to the company.
Providing 50 percent more protein per serving than traditional dairy milk offerings, Horizon Organic’s new High Protein Milk has 12 g of protein per 8 oz. serving. The product’s three flavors, Reduced Fat Chocolate, Reduced Fat Plain and Vitamin D, are available in 64 oz. multi-serve cartons.
Dirty Lemon has released +chromium, the first of 12 new SKUs scheduled to drop each month through the rest of this year. Each 16 oz. bottle contains 600 mcg of chromium along with guarana and blue spirulina to support metabolism and energy levels.
Diet Coke has added two new flavors, Blueberry Acai and Strawberry Guava, to its product lineup, after testing more than 20 flavor options with over 2,000 Americans, according to the company. The new flavors are available in 12 oz. single cans and 8-packs.
Chicago-based wellness company Vital Proteins has released a line of Collagen Shots in five flavors designed to fit into every part of the day: Glow (Morning), Zen (Mid-day), Restore (Post-workout), Cleanse (Mealtime) and Sleep (Bedtime). Each shot is 2 fl oz. and contains 7 g of collagen peptides.
Energy drink Sunshine now has a new look for all three flavors and is now available in 12 oz. cans.
Califia Farms has added a new line of oat milks to its plant milk offerings. The new portfolio includes Oat Barista Blend, launching February 2019, and Unsweetened Oat Milk, launching April 2019.
Coca-Cola’s Venturing & Emerging Brands (VEB) unit is testing out non-alcoholic adult sparkling drinks in the company’s hometown of Atlanta with the launch of BAR NONE. The beverages come in 4-packs of 12 oz. bottles in four cocktail-inspired flavors -- Spiced Ginger Mule, Bellini Spritz, Dry Aged Cider and Sangria -- and are available in online and in select Atlanta restaurants and specialty markets 4-packs of 12 oz. bottles.
Yönalé has released a new line of Birch Waters that are USDA Organic, non-GMO, low-sugar, paleo-friendly and keto-friendly, and are available in Original and Bilberry flavors.
Right On Brands, Inc. has added four CBD-infused sparkling water SKUs to its ENDO Water product line: Watermelon, Lemon Lime, Cucumber and Pure Club Soda Water. The products are available in 16 oz. bottles and contain 10 mg of Endo hemp oil.
MindFull, Inc. has launched the first brands in its beverage portfolio, two ready-to-drink organic electrolyte tea brands: green tea brand Gaiam and black tea brand Vibe (not pictured). Launching at Whole Foods 365 and Central Market, the beverages come in Hibiscus, Lemon, Mint and Pomegranate flavors.
Gac superfruit-infused beverage brand GacLife announced the launch of Gac Sport, the new drink containing antioxidant carotenoids and electrolytes, no added sugar, no preservatives and 10 calories per can. Gac Sport is available in a lemon + electrolyte flavor and comes in a 6-pack of 12 oz. recyclable aluminum cans.
Queen City Hemp
Cincinnati-based company Queen City Hemp‘s CBD Seltzer in now available for nationwide shipping. In addition to the new web launch, they also launched a flavor specific to Ohio, which is where they began. This Lizard Lime flavor pays homage to Cincinnati and is available across the state.
The new year has brought a new look for sports drink brand KRa, which launched new packaging with labels highlighting its’ core ingredients. The company is promoting the new packaging with its #junkfreeme social media campaign.
