A week after California drinks manufacturer Manna Beverages shuttered operations and terminated the entire on-site staff, the company’s West Sacramento and Anaheim production facilities are up for sale.
The two plants are now listed for auction on the website of Harry Davis & Company, an asset auction and appraisal service for the food and beverage industry. The sales are being conducted in conjunction with asset-disposition firm Maynards.
The two sites operate under the Nor-Cal Beverage Company name. Manna Beverages & Ventures, an affiliate of Manna Capital Partners, acquired Nor-Cal in 2023 for an undisclosed sum.
According to the listing, the Anaheim Facility has an annual capacity of over 69 million cases and includes five production lines, including dual-capability canning and specialized chilled lines.
The West Sacramento site includes five production lines and variety pack capabilities, including aseptic packaging, automated variety pack and premium bottle lines.
Both sites abruptly closed earlier this month, with members of the Nor-Cal Beverage Employees’ Union receiving notice on Thursday, October 2, to not report for work the next day, with all operations ceasing on October 7.
More than 400 employees were impacted by the closure.
California law requires companies to give 60-day notice before a mass layoff, plant closure or relocation.
According to the auction listing, prospective buyers can place bids online. On-site inspections are by appointment only.
