The Board of Directors of PepsiCo, Inc. declared a quarterly dividend of $0.425 per share on PepsiCo common stock. The dividend is payable March 31, 2009, to shareholders of record on March 6, 2009. • Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Southern California broke ground and plans to start construction on a new refrigerated distribution center and office. • The Board of Directors of The Pepsi Bottling Group, has declared a quarterly dividend of $0.17 per share on PBG’s common stock. The dividend is payable March 31, 2009 to PBG shareholders of record on March 6, 2009.

The Associated Press ran an article updating the state of bottle deposit laws nationwide. • AmCan Beverages Inc., a subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Co., settled a dispute with the city of American Canyon, Cali. over wastewater discharge requirements for nearly $7.6 million. The settlement includes a $3 million civil penalty. In signing the settlement, AmCan Beverages admits no fault. • Colleges and universities are looking to Washington University’s endeavor to ban on-campus bottled water sales as a precedent for potentially installing their own bottled water bans. • Maine state lawmakers voted Thursday to spike a bill that could have prohibited minors from buying energy drinks after the sponsor said she needed more time to research the issue. • POM filed three federal lawsuits in January against Welch’s, Tropicana Products Inc. and Ocean Spray Cranberries Inc.
Yakult U.S.A. Inc. now sells in more than 200 Safeway grocery stores in Northern California. This agreement also includes over 100 Safeway stores in Arizona and Hawaii, the latter of which is new territory for Yakult. • XYIENCE announced that Xenergy is available at Costco Business Centers in Nev.; Ariz.; Wash.; and California.
