Former Constellation COO Joins BioSteel As President

Bruce Jacobson is the new President at Constellation Brands-backed sports drink makerBioSteel. Jacobson brings a long track record in beverage alcohol; prior to BioSteel, he had been chief commercial officer at Milwaukee-based Press Premium Alcohol Seltzer, joining the brand shortly after Constellation Brands made a minority investment in 2020. In the role, Jacobson "led a team in scaling the business to achieve profitable growth while balancing its entrepreneurial spirit and identity," according to a press release.

NielsenIQ: Non-Alc Beverage Sales Remain Stable as Pricing Offsets Volume Declines

Strong pricing helped keep non-alcoholic beverage sales largely consistent in the two-week period ending June 18, according to an analysis of NielsenIQ data by Goldman Sachs Equity Research. Retail dollar sales in the two-week period grew 9.4% year-over-year, compared to 9.3% growth in the four-weeks and 11.3% for 52-weeks.

Aria originally backed the brand in its $5 million Series A round last May, and is reinvesting on the back of a strong performance over the past 12 months, during which it has surpassed 10,000 total doors across more than 30 states.

KDP Acquires Global Rights to Canadian Mocktail Brand Atypique

Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) has entered a definitive agreement to acquire global rights to Canadian non-alcoholic RTD cocktail brand Atypique. The acquisition is expected to close in early Q4 2022 and terms of the deal were not disclosed.
