Miami, Florida – After a successful exit with Blue Run Spirits, Sammy Halpern joins Desolas Mezcal as the Chief Strategy Officer and co-founder. In this role, Halpern will ensure Desolas reaches new heights by managing operations in Mexico, along with all distribution channels throughout the USA, Canada and beyond. Additionally, Halpern will work alongside GG Mirvis, the CEO and co-founder of Desolas, to develop and execute all sales and marketing strategies.
Before joining Desolas Mezcal, Halpern was a managing partner at Blue Run Spirits, acting as the Global Brand Director. Alongside Shaylyn Gammon and Trey Wade, he was instrumental in helping build Blue Run into the brand it is today. In this role, Halpern was responsible for a 39-state distribution sales expansion and producing $15 million in sales globally in year 3 of the brand's existence. Before his Blue Run Spirits tenure, Halpern was a portfolio manager for the famed Moet Hennessy where he was tasked with building Moet Hennessy’s portfolio of wines, spirits and champagnes in the Florida market. In tandem with brand-building capabilities, Halpern has a wealth of knowledge of sales and distribution, after working at Coastal Wine and Spirits a division of Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits under Gene Sullivan.
